Illegal aliens to remain jailed in Jesus statue case

MARYVILLE -- Three Mexican men will face a preliminary hearing Monday on charges they were in possession of several pounds of marijuana, which they had hidden inside a statue of Jesus. The three, Luis Eduardo Rodriguez, 31, Orlando Garcia, 29, and Christobol Mancilla Cardona, 38, all of Monterrey, Mexico, were arrested Nov. 30 at their Maryville residence based on a citizen complaint and an investigation by Blount County authorities.
