LULAC Disables Anti-Minuteman Websites

Jake and I both recently posted about LULAC's new anti-Minuteman websites here and here. Well, guess what? People start talking about them and *POOF* they're gone!

weareracist.com gets the "site temporarily disabled" screen, and weareracists.com is up with the following message:

Due to the threats of violence we have received from the anti-immigrant movement who refuse to reveal their identity, we are disabling this site!
Here's the problem: when you call someone nasty names and make accusations against them on the web, you'd better be able to back it up. This is the information age, baby, and you can try to sell your bullshit, but only someone who already believes -- or desperately wants to -- will buy it.

The MSM has clearly been anti-Minuteman, too, since they got wind of the first border operation last April. Don't you think they were chomping at the bit to be able to give us a story of a Minuteman who was a member of a white supremacist group, or a Minuteman who assaulted an illegal alien? Groups like the ACLU were all over the border operations, drooling in anticipation of being able to point a finger at any misstep, large or small, by a Minuteman with a triumphant "A-HA! See? Racist! Vigilante! Violent!"

There were none.

So groups like LULAC jump on the name-calling bandwagon, because that's all they've got. Unlike the Minutemen, whose object and purpose are clearly and fully stated on their website, LULAC had to resort to hurling defamatory labels, referring to alleged white supremacist ties, and, finally, pulling their websites with a claim that they've been threatened by the very "anti-immigrant" forces they were so bravely defaming.

Calling the Minutemen names that are patenly false is juvenile. Making claims about the Minutemen with absolutely nothing to back them up is despicable. Pulling their websites when people talked and squawked is spineless.

Got something to say? Then say it, mean it, and back it up.
