They Just Can't Help Themselves

Just Another Day for U.S. Military in Iraq

BEIJI, Iraq - U.S. Army soldiers carried out raids in dusty Iraqi towns. Military
doctors treated soldiers wounded by roadside bombs. Christmas in Iraq' was
just another day on the front lines for the U.S. military.

For many soldiers, the holidays are more of a benchmark for their time in Iraq than a special day.

"Believe it or not, I didn't realize it was Christmas until last night," said 1st Sgt. Andre Johnson, 38, of Baton Rouge, La. "It's just another day, man."

Another day on patrol. Another day walking the streets while the cold wind cut through their uniforms and a chilling drizzle coated their faces. The neighborhood's residents stayed inside, peeking through windows at the passing soldiers.

Read more of this drivel here.

Look, let's get the obvious out of the way first. I'm certain it sucks ass to be in Iraq and away from your family over the holidays. I hardly think you have to beat us over the head with it, okay?

Having said that I find it more than a little unbelievable that this hard working, industrious reporter puke couldn't find one dogface that wasn't pulling a long face.

The subtext here as I read it goes a little like this..."OH MY GOD! WAR IS SO BAD IT EVEN KILLED SANTA AND THE BABY JESUS!"

And while there's probably a lot of truth in that, it shows a tremendous lack of class to shout it out so proudly.

Since this is such blatant propoganda I thought I'd counteract it with a little more propoganda for balance sake.

Pentagon video here of Santa comes to Baghdad.

I'm pretty sure this is also propoganda because I'm trying to envision a serviceman or woman explaining to a DOD news crew that it sucks ass in Iraq. Yeah, can't see that one!

Come on dead dog media, how stupid do you think we are?
