Illegal Aliens and the Hollywood Jackasses Who Love Them

A bevy of bold-faced celebrities is backing a bill to allow illegal immigrants to obtain driver's licenses.

Oh, it's bold-faced, alright. Arrogant and cocky as the day is long.

More than 30 actors, writers and musicians -- including Diane Keaton, Carlos Santana and "Million Dollar Baby" writer Paul Haggis -- took out an ad Monday in the trade paper Variety urging Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to approve the bill, claiming it would make roads safer and that driving is a civil right.
A civil right? Do these jackasses even know what a civil right is?

Let's check in with Merriam-Webster, shall we?

CIVIL
1a: of or relating to citizens b: of or relating to the state or its citizenry

For the slower of you Hollywood jackasses, that means that a civil right is a right for citizens.

"A lot of us in the entertainment business are terribly spoiled, and we live in a world where we are overprotected and overpaid," Haggis said. "At the same time, I think we have a duty to give voice to those who perhaps haven't the same access. It's about basic fairness."
ILLEGAL aliens don't have "the same access" because they came here ILLEGALLY. If you want to talk about basic fairness, how about those citizens whose jobs have vanished in the flood of ILLEGAL immigration? How about those immigrants who come here legally and wade through the lengthy and arduous task of earning citizenship?

Coming a day before the Academy Awards nominations, the ad features a picture of a Hispanic woman and two young children with the caption, "Nominated: Best Nanny in a Supporting Role."
I've got a nomination of my own -- more than 30 of them, in fact:

"Best Jackass in an Aiding and Abetting Role"

Officer, the envelope, please? And the warrant goes to...
