Is This the Voting Blocks Our Politicians are Chasing?

We'll be sure to have more on the the Mexican elections when there's more to report. But this little tidbit buried at the bottom of an AP/Yahoo! story caught my attention:

The estimated 11 million Mexicans living in the United States were allowed to vote from abroad for the first time, but the 32,632 ballots they cast weren't likely to make much of a difference.
Is this the huge, politically desireable voting block our politicians are willing to trample over U.S. citizens to reach? Here's a little remedial lesson for all the mathematically challenged Congress critters out there:

32,632 = .3% of11 million

Is it really worth it to screw and piss off the American public -- remember us, the ones who elected your sorry asses? -- for .3% of eligible voters?

Because, if it is, you're even dumber than you look.
