Chicago Celebrates Mexican Independence

I just posted on this Mexitude comin' at ya from the beautiful sanctuary city of Chicago. Just for grins and giggles, I bopped over to the city's website to see what other festivities this formerly American city might have in store to celebrate Mexican Independence Day.

Parades. Yes, you saw that correctly -- parades with an S.

September 9th: Mexican Independence Day Parade
September 10th: 26th Street Mexican Independence Day Parade
September 16th: 18th Street Mexican Independence Day Parade

Let's compare that to all the parades the city mounted to celebrate our own Independence Day:

Chirp.
Chirp.
Chirp.

That's right, folks.

Mexican Independence Day = 3 parades
American Independence Day = 0 parades

Remind me again what country I live in?
