DC "Immigrant Rights" Rally Fizzles

Source: al reuters
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Several thousand immigrants and their supporters -- far fewer than predicted -- rallied before the U.S. Capitol on Thursday to urge Congress to make citizenship possible for those who have entered the country illegally.

In a muted echo of the massive immigrant-rights protests that filled streets from coast to coast in April, the predominantly Hispanic crowd waved American flags and chanted, "Si se puede," Spanish for "Yes we can."

"I want to get a better future for me and for us," said Juan Manuel, 30, a Guatemalan native who works in construction.

Turnout was far below the hundreds of thousands of protesters that organizers predicted.
This has become a lose/lose proposition for these folks. If they manage to put thousands in the streets it pisses Americans off. If they don't, it appears foolish and weak. Of course when you're advocating for an illegal activity, I suppose it's difficult not to walk the line of absurdity.

And of course, to the gentlemen who "wants a better life?" No shi'ite Sherlock, I don't doubt you do, but what about all the folks who are trying to do the right thing in the right way?
