VA: Landes releases survey on locals' concerns

STAUNTON -- Locals named transportation, immigration, education and health as major concerns in a survey released this week by Del. Steve Landes, R-Weyers Cave. More than 1,650 constituents in the 25th House District completed the 21-question survey. 94 percent do not believe illegal aliens should be eligible to receive taxpayer supported in-state tuition rates at Virginia's public colleges and universities. 93 percent favor penalizing businesses that knowingly hire illegal aliens. 92 percent support allowing state troopers and local police officers in Virginia to detain and hold illegal aliens for deportation when they are pulled over for a traffic violation or arrested for another crime.
