It's a shame that the masses have become so intellectually enfeebled that many can't discern the most vital difference between a republic and a democracy. If you try, you can pick them out pretty easily; they're the ones who get shrill and whiny about it when they feel the "rights" they really don't have or understand are being violated. Inherent to their malady of misinformation is a default preference for mob rule.

If that's what you want, move to France. Seriously.
