Shocker: Suspected Illegal Alien Forced To Take Shower!

A 23-year-old Canadian tourist traveling through Georgia was recently detained overnight in jail for minor offences due to a new state immigration law.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said Saturday that Ottawa native Cheryl Kuehn was detained last weekend for more than 11 hours for minor traffic violations as officials checked her immigration status.

Officials at Glynn County Jail said they merely detained the Canadian tourist to post a cash bond and check her immigration statue as per the new SB 529 immigration law.

Yet with the graduate student also being forced to strip naked and shower after being detained last Saturday, many immigration activists are up in arms.

"Canada is our biggest trading partner," said Jerry Gonzalez, executive director of the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials. "It's a disgrace that this woman had to go through that. I think the governor owes us an explanation."

The newspaper said with the law not scheduled to go into effect until July, an internal investigation has been launched into the alleged mistreatment of Kuehn.

So being forced to take a shower is mistreatment? I shudder to think of the consequences of a bubble bath!
