Media Bias: What Media Bias?

AP reports two stories today that I find instructive.

In the first "US troops kill five civilians in Iraq " we learn that five Iraqi's were killed near a roadblock by US troops.

Is this news? I suppose so, but, and this is a rather large but, I would be much more comfortable with this kind of reporting of we also had a clear picture of the good happening in Iraq with which to balance the picture.

The second "Bush Tries to Tone Down High-Pitched Debate on Iraq" attempts to explain to us how eeeevil President Bush is scrambling to back off his harsh rhetoric.

Uh-huh. Let's dissect the goofiness here. The Democrats have been lying their asses off with the direct complicity of the media. The media either knew they were lying and didn't care, or they were too damn lazy to be bothered to check the historical record, which makes them too stupid and lazy to hold their current jobs in my book. Just a reminder to those in the media, your job is not to educamate me, nope, it's to be a transparent pass through for information. If that's too hard for you, well, there's always picking up trash for a living, god knows you've slung enough that it would be poetic justice.

So, finally, finally after long last the President and VP swing back. Long after most Americans gave up hope, long after we dared hope our leaders would refute the pernicious lies of the crybaby party of losers, appeasers and useful idiots.

And what is the response from our dead dog media?

EEK! Mean old Bush is beating up these poor, poor Democrats. Then they renew the lying. "Bush questions Murtha's patriotism!" They squealed like the lying, gossiping schoolgirls they really are. The administration didn't question Murtha's patriotism, I did!

"Bush takes a hard line against dissenters!" Well, yeah! And it's about time, too.

Now Bush comes out and says what he's been saying all along. Vigorous debate is good, dissent is fine, just don't lie about your previous position or the intelligence you saw.

How does the dead dog media respond?

"Bush finally stops abusing congress!"
