CNN: It's a Gift

CNN's got a gift, and I'm in awe.

Yesterday I blogged this about Joe Lieberman's latest visit to Iraq, and what he had to say about the war upon his return...specifically about the progress he observed, and his statement that Iraq appears to be well on the road to something terrific -- if we don't leave too soon.

Newsworthy, particularly coming from a Democrat.

So this morning I surfed over to CNN, and they actually had a story about it! I have to admit that I was a little surprised to see Lieberman's mug right there on their front page. Then I started reading.

Lieberman: Failure in Iraq would be 'catastrophic'

I'll say it again: it's a gift. Only the loony left, "Bias, what bias?" MSM could manage to squeeze the words "failure" and "catastrophic" into a 7-word headline about Lieberman's praise for our troops and support of keeping them there until the job is done.

Then they do what they do best...give 7 short paragraphs to Lieberman's take on the war, then immediately turn the story back to troop withdrawal.

However, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Tuesday that the number of U.S. troops in Iraq "is clearly going to come down" because Iraqi forces are becoming more capable of taking over security functions themselves, but she stopped short of saying how many troops might leave or when they might come home.
Well, it is what they do. And they do it well.
