I'm gonna give you a little lesson in what is actually happening as opposed to the happy BS the press would like to sell you. here's the headline --

Why does China care if we ratify the Kyoto treaty?

China — one of the world's major polluters — urged the U.S. to join the Kyoto treaty Wednesday, rejecting arguments that the pact is flawed because it fails to restrict emissions by developing countries.

The Bush administration said Kyoto would cost the U.S. economy $400 billion and almost 5 million jobs, while excluding China and India from mandatory emission caps.

China and India are two countries who would be more than happy to pick up any slack from a dip in our economy. China and India support the Kyoto treaty which affects them not at all. As Clausewitz said of diplomacy, this is war by other means.

Hmmm, que bono, as Miss Marple says.

Understand, this is yet another socialist attempt to level the playing field downward. Instead of trying to raise everybody's standard of living we'll just pull everybody down to the same crappy standard. It's the way socialism works every single time.

So the next time an enviro-weenie asks you why you don't care about the enviroment. Just point at thier Starbuck's coffee with a big smile and tell them to enjoy the high life while it lasts.
