Oh Janet, We Really Are!

Source: Breitbart
Ariz. Governor Orders Troops to Border

Gov. Janet Napolitano on Wednesday ordered more National Guardsmen posted at the Mexican border to help stop illegal immigrants and curb related crimes.

National Guard troops have worked at the border since 1988, but Napolitano signed an order authorizing commanders to station an unspecified number of additional soldiers there to help federal agents.

Once the funding is approved, the troops will monitor crossing points, assist with cargo inspection and operate surveillance cameras, according to the order.

"They are not there to militarize the border," the governor said. "We are not at war with Mexico."

(Sound of record scratching, crowd taking in its collective breath, glass breaking)

Um, Janet, yeah we really, really are at war with Mexico, hell, we've already lost if your and the rest of your cowardly politicians are any example.

Example here.

Mexico has been colonizing America for years and we've been stupid and weak enough to just go along. Paris should serve as the perfect example of what happens when you get an unassimilated population percolating under the surface, is that the future you want for this country?

Not only have we lost this war, but now like a good colony we allow Mexico to dictate our laws to us. Isn't that special?

Example here.

And of course the ultimate irony to me is simply this. For all the caterwauling about diversity, we are becoming less diverse. For all its many defects our earlier immigration laws at least attempted to maintain a healthy mix of different cultures, the very definiton of the melting pot.

Now? Now we have a new monolithic minority/majority demanding that they be accomodated in ways that would have been unimaginable to our earlier immigrant ancestors who came here to be Americans and partake of this great nation, not demand that we become Germany or Ireland for their convenience as our new immigrants do.

Example here.

I am currently having a debate over at Crazy Politico's over this very issue. Let me begin by saying that I respect CP quite a bit, that's why he's in my blogroll and in my favorites, however, on this issue I think he has his head up his ass and this brings us back to who we are as a nation.

His argument if I may sum up, and please feel free to correct me CP, seems to be since there aren't enough people to do certain jobs, leaving aside why this would be so, we should welcome any and all illegals who manage to subvert our laws and cross the border illegally especially as these jobs are unpleasant, again, not dealing with why this would be so, so we must be content with the lawlessness and chaos that follows because we are no longer a nation of laws, merely an economy with the trappings of a nation.

Thia is why, other than rich elite asshats, this issue is such a loser for conservatives. I for one am offended to my core that American bosses harrumph that AMERICAN workers stink and guys like CP line up behind them and nod their heads sagely and mutter "yeah, stupid American workers."

Never questioning things such as, are the bosses telling the truth? are the bosses simply addicted to cheap labor? is the American worker really this bad?

Nope, the bosses speak and we must simply accept that American workers suck and thank god for these hard working lawbreakers who swarm our borders and kill us with impunity, commit gang rapes, transport and deal drugs, kill our policemen and park rangers because without them a hamburger would cost at least a million dollars.

Ummm, is anybody else getting the faint whiff of bullshit here? Cuz I know I am.

We are at war with Mexico, Mexico is not our "friend". Mexico does not have our best interests at heart. Mexico is out for Mexico, and that's fine, just as we should be out for ourselves in precisely the same way. CP argues that Mexico will attempt to rein us in by raising oil prices which dovetails nicely with my point.

We are no longer a country then. If this is true, as an American my instinctive response is "screw you and the donkey you rode in on." I'll say it again, we have already lost a goodly number of battles in this war precisely because of cowardly advice such as this, and it pains me to say that becasue I genuinely like CP, but to follow that specious logic through to its natural end suggests that when a burglar breaks into your house you must make them tea or they'll hurt you worse and take more possessions. Is that not the definition of cowardice?

NO!! You shoot them in the head and then call the police to take out the trash. And if we were still a nation we would get that in our gut, but too many of us don't. I've said this before but it's been awhile so let me repeat. If the choice is a non-nation with a humming economy or the nation that I love dissolved from within, let the economy take a hit, it'll come back.

Have you ever fixed a faucet? I haven't, I'm not handy like that, but even I understand that you shut off the flow before attempting repairs. Our immigration system is horribly, horribly flawed and yes unfair in many ways to those who seek to come here legally. So let's shut it down for a couple of years, fix the system and when we have a handle on it, let's begin anew as a nation of legal immigrants with a system in place we can all be proud of, a system that adds to the diversity of this gret land. Not a system that rewards people for breaking the law.

Yes Janet, we are at war with Mexico and it's time to rip that scab off and deal with this problem in the light of day, free of lies and dissembling. Though we've lost every battle up til now, we can still win this war, it'll be hard, especially with conservatives working against us, but we can win.

What say you?
