I AM A Proud Black Vagina
So says Cynthia McKinney.

An elected member of Congress is not by definition "powerless." In fact an elected member of Congress has in many ways made it pretty damn far in this country to then turn around and act as if a black person cannot get ahead in America. Seems dumb to me, but what the hell do I know? I mean, I can't have ever experienced racism being a white person, right?
I'm calling shame on the black community on this one. I think y'all need to just quit with the Stalinistic backing of lunatics and schlemeels who happen to be in power. There are goons and knuckleheads of every race, let's stop pretending merely because someone is black makes them A.) perfect, or B.) a victim of racism.
I find it curious that when Mz. McKinney found herself under scrutiny her first instinct was to flash her "victim credentials."
I AM A PROUD BLACK VAGINA! And I will be held to a different standard due to the vagaries of biology and race.
Nonsense, and with race baiters everywhere the most important detail comes last. Congresswoman. A person who has acheived prominence.
Please, for god's sake. Stop the madness!

At a press conference Monday morning, black clergy and lawmakers came the defense of the firebrand congresswoman. McKinney smiled as her supporters heaped praise on her leadership and her new look _ her trademark cornrows replaced earlier this year by a curly brown afro.Look, I'm not saying for a second that there's no racism in this country. However, having said that let's consider the situation here. An elected member of Congress is acting like a lunatic, smearing everybody possible with vile race accusations, and her base is eating this up.
Speaking during a meeting of the Concerned Black Clergy of Metropolitan Atlanta, McKinney did not mention last week's altercation, which happened after a Capitol Hill officer failed to recognize her as she entered a House office building.
Instead, McKinney's supporters did the talking, calling her face and record internationally famous. Her supporters tried to minimize the incident _ which they called political, not criminal _ but they also suggested it was an example of racial profiling. They called publicity surrounding the episode a distraction that is being used by "her enemies" to keep the congresswoman from performing her elected duties.

"This whole incident was instigated by the inappropriate touching and stopping of me -- a female, black congresswoman," she said,"A female, black congresswoman." Factually correct and yet this is what I hear.
