Our Good Friend?

Source: Seattle Post-Intelligencer

Let's cut the crap, shall we? In his speech last Monday president Bush said this about Mexico...
Mexico is our neighbor, and our friend.
Uh-huh, now let's see the reality...
MEXICO CITY -- Police enraged by the kidnapping of six officers club unarmed detainees. A bloody battle between steelworkers and police leaves two miners dead. Drug lords post the heads of decapitated police on a fence to show who's in charge. *snip*

In April, suspected drug lords posted the heads of two police officers on a wall outside a government building where four drug traffickers died in a Jan. 27 shootout with officers in the Pacific resort of Acapulco.

A sign nearby read: "So that you learn to respect."
Not very pretty is it? In fact I for one feel a little uncomfortable knowing this is going on on our doorstep without a...

FENCE!

This is the ugly reality of Mexico that no one will touch with a ten foot pole. Drug cartels are acting exactly like Islamotard killers, but Mexico is our good friend?

And remember this you soft headed idjits who support illegal immigration, if "good hearted" folks can stroll across our borders, then so can hardened killers, rapists, pedophiles, gang members, drug cartels, robbers, burglars, not to mention, identity thieves, muggers, and cop killers.

This isn't to slam the actual decent folks to come across the border, but you need to understand that since we have no idea who's coming over the border, we are guaranteed to recieve these categories along with the harmless busboys and dishwashers.

And we do, in astonishing numbers.

An aside, I keep hearing how we share much cultural similarity with Mexico, is that true? I've known a lot of Mexicans, and liked a lot of Mexicans, but I never felt that our cultural mores were really all that similar. In fact I would say they were pretty radically different, not that that's per se a bad thing, we accept immigrants from all over the world quite successfully, but that doesn't make the assertion of a shared culture true either. If you believe this, on what do you base it?

Here's a thought, why don't they clean up their act, take down the drug cartels and we'll talk about that whole "friendship" thing then. Until then...

Build a freakin' fence!
