Traditionalist Versus Secular-Progressive: A Review Of Bill O’Reilly’s Culture Warrior

Finally!  We miss your writing around here pal!

By: James Kotthoff

I just finished reading Bill O’Reilly’s latest book “Culture Warrior” and I recommend it highly.

Regardless of you feelings on Mr. O’Reilly personally I think that every thinking American should read this book. While Mr. O’Reilly and I disagree on many issues, most notably how to deal with illegal immigrants already in this country. He feels that you can’t deport 12-20 million people, while I feel you don’t have to. I feel you just remove the magnets that keep them here and 90% will go back home. I find his writings to be well thought out and expressed.

In Culture warrior he examines the goals and method’s of the secular-progressive movement (S-P) and it’s plans to convert the U.S. into a European style secular society. He makes an interesting case that it is not about liberal vs. conservative nor Democrat vs. Republican, but it is about traditionalist vs. secular-progressive. As you read this book you will come to understand the differences between the S-P agenda and the values of most Americans. You will look at issues between parents and public schools, wealth vs. social programs, national foreign policy vs. global foreign policy and a host of other issues.

Are you a traditionalist? Take this short quiz and see where you stand.

He points to those (in his opinion) who are the leaders of the S-P movement today. They include George Lakoff, George Soros, Peter Lewis, Howard Dean and others. If you have read any of Mr. O’Reilly’s previous books, listened to his radio show or watched his television show you know he is not shy to name names and can usually back up his assertions with logical debate. He takes on the main stream media and Hollywood with equal vigor. I don’t want to give away too much detail about this book as I really feel it is a must read for any American concerned about the direction this country seems to be heading. But I do want to leave this with Mr. O’Reilly’s code of the traditional warrior. See if this fits you.

Code Of The Traditional Warrior
Keep your promises
Focus on other people, not yourself
See the world the way it is, not the way you want it to be
Understand and respect Judeo-Christian philosophy
Respect the nobility of America
Allow yourself to make fact based judgments
Respect and defend private property
Develop mental toughness
Defend the weak and vulnerable
Engage the secular-progressive opposition in a straight forward and Honest manner
