Thanksgiving

I want to wish each and every reader of this blog a blessed Thanksgiving!

Thank you for stopping by here and thank you for making this blog such a joy to produce. I hope you all are able to spend time with your families and that those get togethers are joyous.

Here's my little T-day sermon.

"...and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor." Isaiah 61:3

A spirit of despair has taken root among too many of those involved with immigration reform. People seem to have lost heart. But why?

Someone who I consider a good friend and ally recently mentioned to me that we need to start using the corrupt tactics of the bad guys, and unless we did we would lose.

Another friend suggested that no matter what we did we would lose, amnesty would pass destroying this country we love so dearly.

Yet another exploded calling the American people stupid, and suggesting they just didn't care about this issue.

Guys? Here's just one of the many things I'm thankful for on this day of reflection...

WE'RE WINNING!

I know it can be hard to see sometimes. I know that the even though you know in your heart that your not a racist, it galls when some glib prick strolls up and insinuates that patriotism = racism. I even know that the progress we're making comes in hard fought millimeters not the yards we hope for.

But we're winning. Even if we weren't I would expect those who've taken on this fight to delight in the battle. Do you? This will never be an easy fight, this will never not take a toll and you need to know that up front. As Americans I fully expect you to man up and tough it out, this nation needs you, now more than ever.

As to adopting the other sides tactics. This is always a loser, you know why? Because while they flail around market testing lies and evasions our job is much, much easier. We just need to tell the truth, and then keep telling the truth and calmly and as reasonably as we're able.

Consider this, most Americans get their news only from the Three Monkey Media. The TMM has made it their mission to soft soap illegal immigration as if it were a tasty new sandwich and make amnesty out to be the most sensible thing since Mr. Rogers sweater. Yet the American people still loathe illegal immigration in very large numbers, still want to call them stupid?

To those who would come onto this blog and call us racists for noting the 90% of the problem? I literally am speechless. Do you think hundreds of stories about illegal Latvians are pouring over our transom and we're ignoring them? Uh-huh, know what? We look for stories about what? screw your thinking cap on and take a guess, it'll be like a fun party game...

Illegal immigration!

I have to be honest with you, if there's a secret racial code in the phrase "illegal immigration" I've yet to tease it out. Perhaps you'd be so kind as to explain?
