Ripped From The Headlines?

Law & Order has a tradition of doing topical stories. Stories that are ripped from the headlines -- as they say.

The episode that aired on 11/16/05 featured a story ripped from...nothing?

As I understand it, not having a television, the story revolves around killer Minutemen. You know those dangerous folks guarding our Southern border.

Allow me to flog a dead horse for a moment. The only place the Minutemen are doing anything wrong is in the fevered fantasy world that is the dead dog media. The dead dog media are slavering for the Minutemen to screw up and the rest of the liberal fantasy machine is more than happy to create the impression that these are dangerous folks.

Though I will not be seeing this episode I have watched enough L&O's in the past to have a pretty good sense of their general liberalness and, OH! Their pretty gosh-darn liberal.

I cannot understand the level of anxiety and outright horror that the Minutemen seem to generate amongst our panty-waisted left.

I definitely understand the fear and loathing among our 'poor undocumented migrant' community, criminals don't dig the law. It's a truism, and they've had it pretty cushy for quite some time now.

But what's up with the lefties?

Don't they favor enforcing the law?

Shhh..., Let's listen in --

That doesn't mean I will support fascists organizing. Call this stuff what it is -- incipient nationalist political organizing, with some pro-worker rhetoric to attract the working class.

Let's restate the values of the "left" in this situation:
- human rights -- meaning all humans.
- eliminating poverty -- meaning globally as well as locally
- decreasing war -- demilitarizing life
- supporting democracy - meaning power to the people

The MMP and their platform are against all four:
- they wish to restrict rights to illegals
- their actions will increase poverty locally, immediately, and globally in the long term
- they take guns to the border

OH. MY. GOD! They take guns ( I can't believe I uttered that word, I feel so dirty) to the border.

Now, this is just one person, however, from what I've seen it's a fairly representative sample of typical muddle-headed lefty thinking on this subject.

It is literally beyond my ken how a person can be pro-ILLEGAL immigration. Can anybody with more than two IQ points to rub together explain this to me?

Again, as I've said before, whenever a lefty utters certain key words (fascist, racist, bigot, sexist, etc.). Stop, drop & listen, as a conservative you'll probably like what your about to hear.

Moving right along. So we have a major network trying their level best to make you fear a group that has one goal. To see our border laws enforced.

Why would they do that?
(the article I took the quote from is actually pretty fair to the Minuteman Project other than some muddle-headed thinking toward the end)
