Yeah Right: Just Honest Folks Lookin' For Work

Check this out.

You've got to be kidding me. In this article we learn that...

The publisher of a community newspaper is now receiving
death threats for taking part in an Exclusive News Channel 8 investigation into
illegal housing and documents.

This happened in Danbury, Conn. The paper is called the Tribuna a local rag dedicated to the Brazilian community.

Emanuela Lima is the reporter who broke the story.

Since our series on illegal immigration aired, Tribuna has
been receiving threats by e-mail fax and phone calls like this one.
"Things
are really going to get ugly. Ugly for that family, I hope," says Emanuela Lima,
quoting the threats. "If we don't act, what will be next."

What will be next indeed?

Another Brazilian newspaper The Immigrant calls for a revolt
against Tribuna.

Breno da Mata is the publisher of the newspaper
Community News.
"They point out some stuff that's not their job," says da
Mata."Like what?" asks Alan Cohn."They point out the bad stuff, bad things about
the Brazilian community," says da Mata.
In an editorial, da Mata's newspaper
says Tribuna should be punished, although it doesn't say how.

I am astonished. Correct me if I'm missing something obvious here. We have a local paper running a feature on illegal activity and not only the criminals but the other Brazilian community newspapers are calling for reprisals?

Why are these people here?

Perhaps this is what happens when you allow the inmates to take over the asylum.

"We love this community and all we have done is to try to
protect them from people who use them as prey," says Lima.

And for this she has been receiving death threats. Am I the only person seeing the natural progression of this kind of thing. Were the French riots so long ago that we cannot see the lesson.

To me, immigration should be a healthy leavening. This is not that. Have you ever seen dough with too much yeast? It's not a pretty picture. The first symptom is that the dough rises uncontrollably and is hard to work with. The second sign is the dough has the wrong texture and is hard to work with, characterized by rips and tears, the technical term is that the dough is stressed.

The third sign is a weak loaf, a loaf that has no structure and just falls apart.

Kind of like a society.

France of course just learned this lesson the hard way. Their dough has been rising for about 30 years. Ours started in the sixties when Kennedy changed the migrant laws, though it didn't really kick into high gear until the eighties.

So, let's say twenty plus years this problem has been building. Clearly President Bush Et al have a big old woodie for ILLEGALS, for the life of me I cannot imagine why.

Let's go over the basics.

Illegals aren't good for the economy.

Illegals do take jobs and drive down wages.

Illegals do commit crimes disproportionate to their representation in society.

Illegals do bring diseases we haven't dealt with in this country for generations.

Illegals do overwhelm public health services.

Illegals do overwhelm public social services.

Illegals do not integrate into our society.

Any questions?
