Brownshirts & Racists & Fascists...Oh My!

I had a thought in an earlier post that I'd like to follow up on. Here's the money graf --

Buzzword Alert! Buzzword Alert! I think our boy has given the game away. Whenever, and I do mean ever, you hear a Liberal weenie utter the word Fascist, stop and take a listen. This is a surefire rule of thumb for Conservatives, whenever that word along with other winning phrases such as -- Nazi! Bigot! Or the perennial favorite that I keep being invected with these days -- Brownshirt! Know that this issue or person is probably someone you will like.

Liberals have broken the means of debate. Their method was chillingly simple -- shout as loud as you can that anyone you disagree with is something truly heinous. Whether it be racist, fascist, brownshirt, hater, sexist, bigot, it really doesn't matter.

Think of a conservative issue. Whichever one you pick, someone, somewhere will accuse you with one of the phrases listed above.

Lower taxes -- RACIST! hurts inner city schools.

Border control -- RACIST! their just poor undocumented migrants who want to rape your daughter (OOPS!) work hard, yeah, that's the ticket.

Prosecute purveyors of child porn -- BROWNSHIRT/FASCIST! your killing free speech

Not commit treason -- FASCIST! free speech

Smaller gub'mint -- RACIST! see hurricane Katrina

Patriotism -- ALL OF THE ABOVE! it's my right to hate my country!

The list goes on and on, so what do we do?

First and foremost, let's purge ourselves of the lies Democrats and liberals have been telling for years that conservatives are racists. Historically untrue, currently untrue. The worst charge you can bring against the Republican Party in this regard is that, on occasion, we caved to the unrelenting pressure and evil of the democratic Party. The Democratic party was/is/and perhaps always will be the party of racism.

Second, let's remember that our philosophy is, at its root, about fairness. Conservatism is based on the notion that if you work hard you'll get ahead regardless of race, gender or religion.

Third, take pride. If someone accuses you of being a racist, brownshirt, sexist, bigot, et al, because of your belief in a doctrine fundamentally based on fairness and equality.

Just smile, that will really piss the bastards off!
