Hawaii Crosses Dangerous Line

The Hawaii Supreme Court has overturned the conviction of a woman whose drug abuse led to the death of her 2-day-old son. They say that no crime was committed against little Treyson Aiwohi because his mother's use of crystal meth two days before he was born, which proved fatal for the infant, occurred before he was a human being.

Hat tip: Stop the ACLU. Article at WND. Coverage from Hawaii:

The real reason the court knocked down the conviction was because it seriously threatens the key premise of legalized abortion. The Hawaii Supreme Court is shamelessly pandering to the “woman’s right to privacy,” (the linchpin of legalized abortion) rather than seeking justice and accountability for the awful death of an innocent child. Think about it. The mother was convicted because her irresponsible conduct put lethal toxins into her pre-born baby causing the baby to die two days after his birth.

Common sense tells us that this is a crime and the lower courts ruled as such. But if Aiwohi’s conviction had been allowed to stand, it would have meant that any woman whose conduct caused harm to or the death of her unborn child, could likewise be criminally charged and held accountable.

I'm sure liberals who love to kill babies are going to go out and party this weekend. It'll be a hot date for Planned Parenthood and the ACLU.
