John "I used to be a war hero, now I like sweet smelling illegal alien genitalia" McCain said this today in regards to the proposal limiting criminals...

``We don't want people who are convicted felons, guilty of crimes, to be eligible for citizenship in this country,'' Arizona Republican John McCain said. ``At the same time we didn't want to go too far.''

I know smart people read this blog, can anybody expain this to me?

"We don't want to go too far." Too far in what? Really, this one has me scratching my head.
