Hasta la Reconquista, baby!

WELCOME to the revolution.

There's no point in hiding it any longer. The more observant members of society have already figured out that there's a secret Latino movement under way to evict every last Anglo-European American from the Southwest and reclaim the land that Mexico lost in the Mexican-American War of the mid-1880s. (Or sold, technically, since Mexico agreed to give up the land for $15 million in cash. Whatever.)

We might have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for the brave anti-immigration soldiers and commentators such as Michelle Malkin pointing out the brown peril. By we, I mean every single Mexican-American in the Southwest United States, even the half-breeds like me, regardless of how deep their family's American roots may go.

The plan is called La Reconquista, and what it means is that we are dead set on turning California and its neighboring states into Mexifornia. Or is it Aztlan? I can't remember; I'm going to have to consult the memo sent out by Mayor Reconquista, Antonio Vivalaraza.
Whew! That's a knee slapper, don't I feel silly? I mean really, what could possibly give me a moment's pause about the delightful criminals pouring over the borders in such unstoppable numbers. Sunlight and kittens folks, sunlight and kittens.

Well, except for this...(extra comforting bit bolded for your reading pleasure)

The organizer of a prayer rally expected to bring hundreds, if not thousands, of people to town hall today and says that if the township persists with its Illegal Immigration Relief Act, his group will fight back with more than rallies or lawsuits.

"For every immigrant who feels afraid and leaves Riverside, we are going to find an immigrant to volunteer to come live in Riverside," the Rev. Miguel Rivera, president of the National Coalition of Latino Clergy & Christian Leaders, said Friday.

"They will be staying at the homes of Brazilians."

And they and other Latinos will be working to obtain mortgages and purchase homes, Rivera said, with the help of at least three banks that his organization is speaking with.

"Instead of tenants, there will be owners," he said, noting that citizenship is not required to purchase property in the U.S.

"Riverside is going to be ours," he said.
You know what? I am conforted doggone it, when I hear these sorts of threats from now on I'll just smile and remember that these are the "New Americans" I hear so much about.

Sunlight and kittens folks, sunlight and kittens.
