Geno's Steaks Owner Backing Hazleton

Source: wfmz
Hazleton's legal defense fund has gotten a royal donation of sorts. One of Philly's cheesesteak kings has offered up the dough to help the illegal immigration crackdown. Joey Vento, owner of Geno's Steaks in South Philly made a $10,000 donation to the effort. Vento's business made national news for his sign telling customers " This is America: When Ordering Please Speak English." Hazleton's mayor says the cost of defending the city ordinance cracking down on illegal immigration will far exceed what he has on hand, even with Vento's donation. The law, if passed, would impose fines on landlords who rent to illegal immigrants and deny business permits to companies that give them jobs.
