Poll opposes immigrant amnesty

Source: decaturdaily
Readers responding to an online poll oppose amnesty for illegal aliens by a margin of more than 6 to 1.

"Should illegal aliens be given amnesty?" the four-day poll asked at www.decaturdaily.com. It ended Wednesday.

A total of 303 (86.1 percent) answered no, and 49 answered yes.

"Secure our borders, whatever it takes," reader Pamela Milligan of Decatur wrote in an e-mail. "President Bush has asked, 'How are we going to deport 20 million people?' I say respectfully, Mr. President, one at a time!"

She said the United States is rewarding lawbreakers who come here in order to get jobs, not to become citizens.

"The strain on the city, county, state and federal level is overwhelming," she said, noting that immigrants are accommodated with Spanish translations that make it unnecessary for them to learn English.

The poll was unscientific, and people could vote from anywhere.
Just another example of Americans not caring about this issue!

As the "unscientific" part? Hmmm, I wonder if a 'scientific' poll has ever been wrong before? An earlier example of this bizarre phenomenon in action.
