Mexican official refuses to rule out trial-in-absence of U.S. Border Patrol agent

MEXICO CITY - The Mexican government is satisfied with the United States' promise to conduct a thorough investigation of the events surrounding the shooting death of a Mexican migrant allegedly by a U.S. Border Patrol agent, President Vicente Fox's spokesman said Friday. *snip*

"The truth is that the negative atmosphere has unfortunately generated, has led to,
this death," Derbez told reporters in Mexico City.

"We have had to suffer the loss of a human life, a Mexican, for the message to get out about the effects of xenophobia, of making wrong-headed proposals," he said.

Derbez was apparently referring to a proposal recently approved by the U.S. House of Representatives that would tighten immigration enforcement and extend border walls, a bill Derbez has called "stupid."

Why, oh why do we care what criminals think of us? Why, oh why do we pretend that Mexico is anything other than an utterly corrupt sinkhole vomiting it's residents onto our shores because they are fundamentally incapable of even pretending to be a properly functioning a country?

Remember this, how about this, this, this, this, this, this.

First of all, isn't an investigation opened automatically when any law officer discharges his weapon? I'm pretty sure that's accurate.

Second, these Border Patrol agents are the very soul of discretion and patience. These guys are attacked all the time, we owe it to them to support them a hunded and ten percent.

Cry all you wish Senor Derbez, border's closing, wave buh-buy.
