MSM Filters News from Border

Mexico demanded a U.S. investigation on Monday into the death of an undocumented Mexican shot by a U.S. Border Patrol agent as he tried to cross into California last week.

Raul Martinez, a spokesman for the U.S. Border Patrol in San Diego, confirmed that an agent had fired on a man on Friday as he tried to cross the border near San Diego, after the would-be immigrant had thrown rocks at him.
Entire story is here.

"The Mexican government is demanding an investigation of the facts," presidential spokesman Ruben Aguilar told a news conference.
Well, of course there needs to and will be an investigation of the facts.

The shooting "shows once again that only a law that guarantees organized, legal and respectful entry (to the United States) can solve the problems posed by migration," Aguilar said.
Organized, legal and respectful? Methinks that, as far as Mexico is concerned, organized=we open our borders to anyone who wants to come, legal=we open our borders to anyone who wants to come, and respectful=we open our borders to anyone who wants to come.

But you sure don't hear our beloved MSM talking about it. Just like they don't talk about this:

Border Patrol agents stationed along the nation's southwestern frontier increasingly are fearful of encountering armed and potentially hostile military units from Mexico.

Also, agents say, officers are hamstrung in their response, citing concerns the U.S. government is often too deferential to Mexican authorities.

"The Border Patrol lives in constant fear of pleasing the consulate general of Mexico," the agent continued. "It's one of the things that's most mystifying to line agents" because the U.S. is one of the most powerful countries in the world but appears to be more interested in accommodating Mexico City, the agent said.

Indeed, the confrontations have become so routine the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has issued written orders that agents carry with them regarding "what to do" if confronted by Mexican military units, many of which are in the employ of Mexico's powerful drug cartels.

Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., head of the House Immigration Reform Caucus, told WorldNetDaily in a 2002 interview he was concerned about a rising number of incursions occurring along the U.S. southwest border.

Noting that elements of the Mexican military were posing a threat to American agents and civilians along the border, he said, "We're no safer today than we were on Sept. 12," in reference to the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Jake previously talked about it, however, here.

Let me get this straight.

One guy attempting to enter our country illegally is shot after throwing rocks at a Border Patrol agent. Big news. Big fuss from Mexican government.

Over a hundred armed incursions by the Mexican military onto U.S. soil. No MSM coverage. Mexican government silent.

Yep. Sounds just about right, yet oh-so-wrong, to me.
