BP Agent Shoots Border Crosser

BISBEE, Ariz. — An unidentified Mexican man has been shot and killed by a Border Patrol agent in the United States just over the frontier near Naco, authorities said Sunday.

The Cochise County Sheriffs Office and the Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector headquarters said the shooting took place Friday. Lt. Commander Mark Dannels of the Sheriffs Office said the confrontation began as a rock-throwing incident.

“The officer was in fear of his life and took the actions he deemed appropriate,” Dannels said.

In Mexico, the Foreign Relations Department condemned the shooting on Saturday, which it said was about 550 yards north of the Mexico border. “The department expresses its profound concern over this kind of disproportionate violence that results in the loss of human lives,” the department said in a news release. “Above all, when force is used against people who do not represent a threat to United States authorities.
I think rock throwing constitutes a threat. Of course I haven't had a gallon of tequila for breakfast so my perceptions may be skewed.

Our best new buddy is mystified that a citizen of his country would even BE in America...
Mexican President Felipe Calderón on Sunday condemned the shooting death of a Mexican immigrant in Arizona by a U.S. Border Patrol agent. *snip*

During a news conference at his presidential residence in Mexico City, Calderón expressed his "most energetic protest" against the shooting and said the Mexican government has demanded a full investigation.
I have a thought, how about we investigate why it's necessary for us to maintain 10,000 border patrol agents on the border of Senor Calderon's pestilent craphole of a country. There's the true mystery.

Take a moment and check out the comments below the last story.

After the Ramos and Compean railroading I think your going to see a lot more fatal shootings. It's the law of unintended consequences, in trying to keep the border patrol from doing their jobs the Bush administration has given our border patrol agents an awfully good incentive to not allow shooting victims to live. Dead folk are much less likely to sue or press charges.

And really, my heart breaks for out invader class, really it does. /S
