Free Jack Idema Blogburst

Ed Caraballo, who Peter Bergen named a ‘blameless journalists’ in
this case, was released at the end of April, but today, Jack Idema and
Brent Bennett are still at Pulacharke struggling to survive.

Jack Idema and Brent Bennett refused the offer of “amnesty” that was
given them; “amnesty” that is given to terrorists for such crimes as
rape and murder. “Amnesty” is something that Jack and Brent would never
consider accepting, because they committed no crime.

They were declared innocent in front of Parliament last weekend;
which is big news. Yet not a word from the international press, which
continues to maintain Jack had a ‘private prison’ and ‘tortured
innocent Afghans’. Interestingly, some of the original reports that
came out claiming that his victims were held upside down in the
basement of the house (there was no basement) have been modified, as
some of these lies were so patently false they could be easily
dismissed as propaganda:

Actually, Cao, you might be the first person to be able
to wade through the bullshit and publish the facts. They were
terrorists, they got caught, Idema caught them, and then they lied.
Like, here’s a good one: the terrorists were supposed to be hanging
upside down in a basement. Problem was there was no basement in the
house, I know, I sent a team there to photograph it. Nor has ONE piece
of evidence ever been shown against them- Just anonymous sources who
have all either dissapeared or been identified, and now fired.

Good job, keep it up, and never let them see you sweat.

Comment by Command Sergeant Major Donald

There was a time that the American government would do something
about Americans who would find themselves in an uncomfortable position
in another country with no help. Tragically, it seems as though that
time has passed, and the people the courts are favoring are the
terrorists who want to destroy us and our way of life. Where is the
outrage the American people should be displaying on behalf of these
Americans?? Is it because this story doesn’t touch their comfortable
lives? It would seem so.

Now, Jack and Brent have only the Afghans to rely upon for their
safety; the American government, the Embassy and journalists seem
determined to keep them there, in spite of the Afghans’ desire to
release them.

Ellen Barker reported that in somewhat of a disingenuous manner

According Kim Barker of the Chicago Tribune,
the biggest challenge isn’t the Taliban or Al Qaeda who are imprisoned
at Pulacharke; instead the biggest challenge the Afghans face is the
three Americans.

That’s a pretty ridiculous statement, wouldn’t you say? Al Qaeda
isn’t the challenge, no, even the Taliban aren’t a challenge–no, the challenge for the Afghans at Pulacharke is the three Americans!

As I see it, the challenge for the Afghans is to get the American
government to listen to their calls for the Americans’ release. The
Afghans themselves want to release these men; yet the American
government and journalists are completely silent on this fact…and when
they DO recognize it, they do it with the usual spin about how these
men are ‘criminals’ ‘bounty hunters’ and ‘rogues’.

But a closer look at this case brings a more frightening picture into focus.

There is a chance that the FBI will attempt to bring some sort of
charges against them upon their return to the United States to save
face and prevent Idema and his men from giving testimony before
closed-door Senate Hearings.

We must encourage the Senate to take action and open a congressional
investigation as to what happened here and who was responsible.

So what can we do? Well, anyone reading this with their own blog can sign up for the weekly Free Jack Idema Blogburst by emailing Cao or Rottweiler Puppy
for details. I’d urge everyone to do this, as we’re still terribly
short on takers. If you want to know more about the story, Cao’s Blog
has a large section devoted to Jack Idema. There’s also a timeline here, and, of course, a huge amount of information is available over at SuperPatriots, without whose work none of us would have learned about Jack’s story.
