Two Things
Source: My good buddy DIGGER!! And the Rocky Mountain News
Our buddy Digger brings us yet another story of illegal aliens employed on a military base...
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents swept through the construction site demanding to see IDs from the workers, most of whom were being paid in cash, according to immigration officials.Let's just call this reason #1,736,097 that I think the "GLOBAL WAR ON TERROR" is complete and unadulterated nonsense. Let us consider for a moment WWII, can you imagine, during the big one, illegal aliens being employed on military bases? Yeah, me neither.
The construction site is near satellite monitoring systems on the base, which is home to the 460th Space Wing, which assists in global surveillance, missile warnings and homeland defense operations.
If we were actually fighting a "GLOBAL WAR ON TERROR" it seems to me, and I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, that it might be good idea to "SECURE OUR MILITARY BASES!!" Especially those related to "homeland defense operations!"
If for no other reason than not to appear retarded to the terrorists, or are we not caring about that?
Thingie #2
Here's the other thing that caught my eye, and this will show you precisely how little interest the federal gubmint has in punishing those hiring illegal aliens...
ICE spokesman Carl Rusnok could not say Wednesday whether any charges had been filed against Hunt Building officials. Now, this article already clued us into a fairly major Bozo no-no committed by these folks, remember what it was?
"Knowingly hiring illegal aliens is a violation of immigration law," Rusnok said.
Here's a reminder...
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents swept through the construction site demanding to see IDs from the workers, most of whom were being paid in cash, according to immigration officials. So whether or not they "knowingly" hired illegals, I'd like to see them explain, to their new cellmate, preferably a well hung stallion affectionately nick-named "Long Dong" that they didn't "knowingly" pay their employees in cash under the table. Because when I was managing a hot dog stand in the eighties we used to have the IRS visually inspecting our colons to make sure we weren't being paid in cash.
When you think IRS do ya immediately think "warm and cuddly?" No? How about "completely uninterested in corporate tax evasion?"
Hmmm, cuz I'll wager if WE tried to pay people cashee money without removing those pesky taxes WE'D find ourselves chillin' in the big house. But if you only hire illegals, to work on a restricted airbase and commit tax evasion, well, then you have no worries, cuz lord knows GWB ain't gonna be breathing down your neck anytime soon for miniscule infractions of that sort.
On a serious note, this is precisely the sort of corruption that flows in the wake of illegal immigration. This is also how you undermine a sense of the rule of law. It doesn't happen in one day, but rather it slowly erodes as people see corrupt businesses and thier pet illegals get special treatment from an utterly corrupted government.
