Chicago Minuteman Conference

Pathetic MSM coverage here. Note the bias in the third paragraph, what happened to "illegal" guys?

Psycho blogger coverage here. I can't decide if she requires more drugs, or less!

We attended the "America First: Summit On National Security" conference hosted by the Chicago chapter of the Minuteman Project. It Rocked!

We arrived around 8:30 and found a gaggle of protesters gathered out front. As I smoked a final ciggie on the steps the protesters, about fifty of them, rounded the side of the building and began shouting and banging drums. Can't these folks just let a poor sod enjoy a smoke before making such a ruckus?

The conference kicked off at 9:15 as we recited the pledge of allegiance. Several excellent speakers shared with us their vision for improving border security. The stand out to me was Robert Vasquez, you may recall him as the fella who sent our pal Mexico a bill for 2 million smackers. He assured us he was still waiting for them to pay up, though he won't be holding his breath.

Unbeknownst to us the crowd of protesters swelled to about a thousand. Police from nine surrounding towns joined the Arlington Heights police decked out in full riot gear. As I enjoyed a post prandial smoke I enjoyed a couple of spirited death threats. Moi? Worthy of a death threat? Life is all good!

Post lunch we were treated to Rosanna Pulido, founder of the Chicago chapter of the Minuteman Project. Susan Tully, National Field Director for FAIR. Chris Simcox one of the original founders of the National Minuteman Project and Terry Anderson host of his own radio show in sunny LA.

My favorite line of the day -- We will leave the border when we are relieved by our national guard or the military -- Chris Simcox

One quick anecdote, during the lunch break the cops pushed the protesters back about a hundred feet. My lovely wife MJ and I decided to brave the foul patchouli stink and take a closer look at the Moonbat corps and get some pix.

While admiring the nuts a couple, not related to the protest, approached us and inquired about what was transpiring. I thought for just a moment before replying, "They are protesting in support of illegal immigration". Well, the admiring look he'd been giving the protesters curdled and after a few more minutes chit-chatting they moved on. it was nice to see someone have a sane reaction to the Minuteman Project.

Anyway, lots more to blog about on this topic, just wanted to get a quick and dirty up since we think the MSM is ignoring the story. 'Cause you know it's just so hum-drum when you have a thousand or so people protest in the 'burbs with massive police response, it's so played!

MJ will upload pix soon.
